Introduction to course

The M.Sc. Nursing in Community Health Nursing (CHN) at Dr. Subhash University is a two-year postgraduate program designed to prepare nursing professionals to take leadership roles in community health and public health systems. This course equips students with the knowledge and skills to promote health, prevent diseases, and manage healthcare services at the community and national levels. The curriculum blends theoretical foundations with practical exposure, empowering graduates to address the health needs of diverse populations through evidence-based care and health education.

Program objective

  • To prepare nurses for advanced practice in community and public health settings.

  • To develop leadership and managerial competencies for planning and implementing community health programs.

  • To strengthen knowledge in epidemiology, biostatistics, health policy, and environmental health.

  • To foster research and critical thinking to improve health outcomes in communities.

  • To cultivate ethical, culturally sensitive, and socially responsible nursing professionals.

Program outcome

Graduates of the M.Sc. Nursing (CHN) program will be able to:

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate community health interventions and programs.

  • Apply principles of public health, epidemiology, and health promotion in practice.

  • Lead community-based health teams and collaborate with multi-sectoral agencies.

  • Conduct research to inform policy decisions and improve health systems.

  • Educate individuals and communities to enhance health literacy and behavior change.

Admission procedure

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 

B.Sc Nursing OR Post Basic B.Sc Nursing from an INC-recognised institute Minimum 55% aggregate marks in B.Sc / P.B.B.Sc Nursing Nursing Registration (Mandatory) 

Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) & Registered Midwife (RM) Valid registration with State Nursing Council 

Work Experience (Important

 Minimum 1 year work experience after: 

  • B.Sc Nursing OR 
  • Post Basic B.Sc Nursing 

DOCUMENT REQUIRED 

  1. 10th (SSC) Marksheet & Certificate – proof of date of birth 2. 12th (HSC) Marksheet & Credit Certificate 
  2. 12th school leaving certificate/transfer certificate 
  3. B. Sc Nursing Mark Sheets (all years/semesters) OR Post Basic B. Sc Nursing Mark Sheets (all years/semesters). 5. B. Sc / P.B.B. Sc Nursing Passing Certificate / Degree. 6. Course completion certificate/reliving order 
  4. State nursing council certificate (RN/RM certificate). 8. Caste certificate (SC, ST, OBC, SEBC) if applicable 
  5. NCL (Non creamy layer certificate SEBC, OBC) if applicable. 10. Aadhar card & Passport size – copy. 
  6. 1 year experience (Teaching or Clinical)
