Student Startups and Innovation Policy (SSIP)
Student Startups and Innovation Policy (SSIP) is a unique initiative of Government of Gujarat that aims to create an integrated, state-wide, university and institute based innovation ecosystem to support innovations and ideas of young students and provide a conducive environment for properly harnessing their creative pursuit. This policy is in synchronisation with central efforts like the Make in India, Startup India, Atal Innovation Mission, National Innovation Council etc. It has following key objectives-
- Developing student centric Innovation and Pre-incubation Ecosystem for Students.
- Creating environment for creativity to flourish and an end-to-end support system in educational institutions to allow ample support to ideas for better execution.
- Build internal capacity of educational institutions and key components of the innovation ecosystem.
- Create pathways for mind to market.
- Create a common platform to showcase, support and upscale innovations for motivating stakeholders as well as for an opportunity to create value for money and value for many.
As a part of this policy, over span of five years, Government intends to build capacity of at least 200 educational institutions in the State, to have a robust pre-incubation facility for students and alumni startups and innovations. Introduced in 2017, currently by end of Phase-III implementation Government has endorsed 24 Universities and 52 Institutes in the State as SSIP Nodal Center. SSIP Nodal centres receives funding assistance from Government and provides facilities like infrastructural resources, working space, funding for developing proof of concept (PoC) and prototype, guidance and support for IPR related activities, mentoring, capacity building, etc.
Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE)
The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is the leading National Professional Society for the Technical Education System in our country with the motto of Career Development of Teachers and Personality Development of Students and overall development of our Technical Education System. Being the only national organization of educators in the field of Engineering and Technology, ISTE effectively contributes in various missions of the Union Government. The strength of ISTE is the strong base it has in technical education institutions in the country. At present, the ISTE has a very large and an effective membership base of Educators, Students, and Institutions at national level. For the development of the faculty members and students, Dr. Subhash Technical Campus is running ISTE(Indian Society for Technical Education) faculty chapter as well as students’ chapter in our campus, since 2015.
We encourage our students and faculty members for not only being the members of ISTE but also to participate actively in the Workshops, STTPs, Seminars, FDPs, Technical Events etc sponsored by ISTE.
The major objectives of the ISTE are:
- Providing quality training programmes to teachers and administrators of technical institutions to update their knowledge and skills in their fields of activity.
- To assist and contribute in the production and development of top quality professional engineers and technicians needed by the industry and other organizations.
- Providing guidance and training to students to develop better learning skills and personality.
Enterprise Resources Planning
ERP is a software based system which connects the students, parents, faculties and the management with the institute. It has different login for the particulars through which they can access accounts. It gives the academic details, fees status and many more.
In student’s corner, students have their personal account in ERP. Through it they can get attendance of daily lectures, updated time table, assignments, subject details, results, achievement certificate, progress report, classroom and lab details. They can also get attendance report.
Parents can get daily attendance, results, fees status, student’s progress report, student’s achievement.
Faculties have also their accounts. They can manage the lot of the students as per students’ academic performance and also assess them as per requirement. Also they can upload their timetable and it’s paper less software so one can perform all tasks with great ease.
