Introduction to course
The M.Sc. Nursing in Pediatric Nursing at Dr. Subhash University is a two-year postgraduate program designed to prepare nursing professionals with advanced skills in child healthcare. This specialization focuses on the nursing care of infants, children, and adolescents, covering both acute and chronic health conditions. With a strong emphasis on growth and development, family-centered care, and pediatric emergencies, the program aims to develop compassionate, knowledgeable, and clinically competent pediatric nurses ready to serve in hospitals, NICUs, PICUs, and community settings.
Program objective
- To provide in-depth knowledge of pediatric nursing concepts, growth and development, and child psychology.
- To equip students with clinical skills for managing neonates, infants, children, and adolescents in various healthcare settings.
- To promote family-centered care and communication in pediatric nursing practice.
- To prepare students for roles in clinical instruction, research, and pediatric nursing leadership.
- To encourage critical thinking, ethical responsibility, and a holistic approach to pediatric healthcare.
Program outcome
Graduates of the M.Sc. Nursing (Pediatric Nursing) program will be able to:
- Deliver advanced nursing care to children in hospitals, ICUs, and community environments.
- Recognize and manage pediatric emergencies and developmental disorders effectively.
- Provide emotional and psychological support to children and their families.
- Collaborate with pediatricians, therapists, and health teams for integrated child health services.
- Lead pediatric units, engage in teaching, and contribute to research in child health nursing.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
B.Sc Nursing OR Post Basic B.Sc Nursing from an INC-recognised institute Minimum 55% aggregate marks in B.Sc / P.B.B.Sc Nursing Nursing Registration (Mandatory)
Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) & Registered Midwife (RM) Valid registration with State Nursing Council
Work Experience (Important)
Minimum 1 year work experience after:
- B.Sc Nursing OR
- Post Basic B.Sc Nursing
