Introduction to course

The Department of chemistry at Dr. Subhash Science college offers three years of undergraduate courses B.Sc. Chemistry and two years post-graduate course M.Sc. Chemistry under the choice-based credit system. The department of chemistry is focused on teaching the frontier areas of chemistry and its interplay with other areas of science. Department has well-qualified faculties providing excellent teaching and learning environment to undergraduates as well as postgraduates. The department is equipped with an art-state laboratory, library, and very good infrastructural facilities.

Course objective

  • The student will possess the knowledge and comprehend the various core and allied courses offered under the opted stream of science.
  • The student will understand the interdisciplinary nature of chemistry and integrate the knowledge of mathematics, physics, and other disciplines to a wide variety of chemical problems.
  • The student will learn the laboratory skills needed to design, safely conduct and interpret chemical research.
  • The student will develop the ability to effectively communicate scientific information and research results in written and oral formats.
  • The student will learn professionalism, including the ability to work in teams and apply basic ethical principles.
